Chris Crockett
Operations and Production Manager
Injection moulding isn’t just Chris’s career. It has been his whole working life. Decades on the factory floor have given him an instinctive feel for the machines, the materials and the processes behind every part we make, and that experience makes him one of the cornerstones of the Plastec business.
Chris has been with Plastec since day one. Few people know our operation as thoroughly as he does, because he helped build it from the ground up.
Building the Factory
When Plastec opened its doors, Chris led the set-up of all 16 injection moulding machines. He brought each one online and tuned it to run reliably and efficiently. His work didn’t stop there: he also designed and installed the factory’s Central Material Handling System, which feeds raw material to the machines so production keeps flowing smoothly.
Today, as Operations and Production Manager, Chris keeps the whole operation running like clockwork. He has an impeccable eye for detail, and nothing is ever out of place in his factory. That standard of organisation and care shows in the quality and consistency of every product that leaves our Hamilton site.
Life Outside Work
Away from the factory, Chris is a retired professional boxer with many fights under his belt. The discipline and work ethic he built in the ring still shape the way he approaches everything he does. He stays very active, and he passes on his knowledge by coaching boxing classes at his local gym.
Chris is an early riser. Before the sun comes up, you’ll often find him out on the local walking tracks with his dogs, getting the miles in before most people have had their first coffee.
Japan is Chris’s second home. He spends a good amount of time there with his family, has a real love for the country and its culture, and speaks fluent Japanese.
