Daniel Putu
Dispatch & Customer Services Manager
With 30 years in plastics manufacturing, Dan brings a depth of industry knowledge that few can match. He has seen the business from almost every angle, from the production floor to the loading bay, and that breadth of experience is exactly why he now leads Plastec’s dispatch and customer services team.
For our merchants, Dan is often the first voice they hear and the person they trust to get things sorted. He understands both the products and the people who rely on them, and he takes real pride in making every interaction with Plastec straightforward.
Running a Tight Ship
Dan was a key part of bringing the Business Central warehouse module and the Tasklet warehouse picking system into Plastec. These systems modernised the way we manage stock, pick orders and track every carton that leaves the building. He helped shape how they work on the warehouse floor every day.
He is the go-to person for customer queries and many of our technical questions. Whether a merchant needs to track down an order or a plumber needs to know which fitting suits a job, Dan usually has the answer, or knows exactly where to find it.
Dan runs a tight ship. Every order processed leaves the warehouse the same day, and his DIFOTIS (Delivered In Full, On Time, In Specification) never drops below 95% and is almost always a perfect 100%. It’s a standard few warehouses can match, and Dan holds it week in, week out.
Life Outside Work
Outside of work, Dan is just as busy. You’ll often find him out on his Harley-Davidson Street Glide, taking part in charity rides and giving his time to causes around the Hamilton region. For Dan, the open road and giving back to the community go hand in hand.
He’s also a dedicated rugby coach, and he led his local school’s First XV to the top honours. He brings the same organisation and high expectations to the training paddock that he brings to the warehouse, and his players are better for it.
A talented basketballer who played at the highest level as a teenager, Dan still loves his sport. He’s also a proud sneakerhead, always hunting for the next rare pair of Jordans or Yeezys. Ask him about his collection, but make sure you have some time to spare.
