Kris Amundsen

Technician / Engineer

Kris has spent 15 years in the industry and is currently a technician and engineer at Plastec. In a factory that runs on precision and uptime, he plays an essential role in making sure every machine on the floor keeps running at its best.

He combines hands-on mechanical skill with a sharp technical mind. That mix lets him move easily between the tooling bench, a machine control panel and the automation code behind it.

Keeping the Machines Running

Kris is responsible for programming our automation, tool maintenance and design, problem solving and machine upgrades. When a machine needs attention, he’s usually the first one there, working out the root cause and getting production back on track quickly.

He led the team through the installation of our barcoding robots, a major step forward for the factory. The project brought greater accuracy and traceability to every product we make, and Kris saw it through from planning to commissioning.

His work on tooling and upgrades is constantly improving how efficiently we produce. Each improvement adds to the reliability and consistency that our merchants and plumbers count on.

Life Outside Work

Kris rides a Harley-Davidson Sportster, and most weekends you’ll find him out on the open road, enjoying a cruise and a well-earned break from the factory floor.

He’s also a talented guitar player. The same patience and feel he brings to fine-tuning a machine come through when he picks up the guitar.
